Reply with quote | #6 | Is that any relation to the Palcics of Bader Avenue? My Dad, Jim Bowen, grew up on Bader, I thought there was a Pat Palcid there. I was going to say that George Bowen would be a source, but he died July 12th. I think they are all related. Hang on let's see if I can dig up an e-mail George and I exchanged ....
Here it is, glad I don't toss those right away ....

Michael. Sorry about the delay in replying. I've been under the weather for a couple weeks. Palcics lived 2 doors down from us. They were tony & Josephine. Kids were Pat & billy. Pat died with diabetes. His parents lived next door to the slovenian club.He had a brother Bob who used to play the organ in the gow. theater. brothers were Phil, Ted, Frank, Ernie & another one I can't name. There was a girl too but don't rember her name. The people you mention were before the ones I knew. ----- Original Message ----- Sent: Saturday, February 10, 2007 8:24 PM Subject: Palcics
George, I’m looking through te Gowanda historical web site, and came across a picture of the Smallwood home on North Chapel Street. It says that the house is the home of three Palcic children: Joshua, Zachary, and Benjamin. Did one of them move to Bader Avenue? Wasn’t there a Palcic 2 doors down from Grandma? If I recall, one of the kiddies you grew up with went blind from Diabetes. I remember delivering papers to Palcic’s when he was sitting on the porch; and he died shortly thereafter. Bill Cain or Marilyn Coudry (both can be reached through the Historical Society) would be a help. Ed Palen (Phil's Dad) would be a source too. I remember working on my Red Cross Life Saving, and Ed and I played victim for each other, but I digress ..... I was going to suggest Bernie Stelly on Bader Avenue, but I'm sure he's dead. Caroline Road ?? How about Karen Miller's Mom? Mike __________________ Mike Bowen |
